1954 Porsche 356 Pre-A Speedster

Stewart Webster bought # 80174 in the late 1990's from Andy Anderson. The car has a known history in the USA, and is rare in that it is one of the first 200 speedsters ever built (174th built). In 1954 the Speedster only came in three colours, with this car originally being red. Stewart sold his first Speedster that he adored in 1998 to Rene Rivken, and regretted selling the car, and as a result wanted to build # 80174 with C disc brakes, 912 motor, and 741 transmission to enhance the driving experience.

The result of over 2 years in restoration saw # 80174 brought back to life in a modern German silver, and today, along with a Sebring Exhaust System, blue printed 912 motor with all the goody bits, set off with leather speedster seats and oatmeal coloured carpet, is one of the best looking and driving 356's in the world.

This Speedster has been shown at the 356 Concours in Melbourne on several occasions, and won numerous awards. In 2007,

# 80174 competed in the regularity at the Phillip Island Historics in Melbourne, along with over 500 other entrants from around the world. It also competed in Classic Adelaide in 2007.
