Actively promoting interest in and the preservation of Porsche 911 & 912 vehicles manufactured between 1963 and 1973 in Australia.
Group S is one of the fastest growing categories of historic motor racing in Australia, with spectacular grids running up to 45 cars.
Based on mildly modified production sports cars, Group S is designed to provide a forum for competitors to race cars from the '50s, '60s and '70s in a form similar to period club racing. It is comprised of three sub categories - Group Sa, Group Sb and Group Sc.
Most historic race meetings in Australia feature Group S events, ranging from scratch races to endurance races. Regularity events also feature some Group S cars
The main purposes of the club are to promote and maintain interest in the 356 Porsche, to maintain a record of the location and condition of all 356 Porsches in Australia and New Zealand, to encourage the exchange of information about the 356 between members, particularly in relation to the restoration and maintenance of their cars.
Promoting goodwill, friendship and enjoyment amongst Porsche owners and drivers and to promote interest in Porsche cars arranging and providing competition and social functions and by the collection and general circulation of technical and mechanical information.
